Photo Assistant

Assist in setting up and breaking down of equipment (mostly lighting)
Assist in carrying equipment
Assisting in lighting during shoot (reflectors, strobes, etc)

Experience:

No experience working as a professional photographer required
Experience with setting up lighting (strobes, soft boxes, etc) preferred
Please submit work that demonstrates understanding of lighting techniques

Ability to capture moments (“candids”)
Understanding of lighting

Blue Bend Photography is four Wedding Photographers based out of the Asheville and Charlotte areas, that specialize in Wedding Photography. It's what we do – period. With over a combined 35 years of wedding photography experience (not only in Asheville and Charlotte, but around the world), our team brings a dynamic and experienced skill to your wedding. Knowing how to take good photos is only part of the job. Knowing where to be and when to be there, how to deal with large groups and how to blend in with the action for candid photos are all key parts of having a successfully photographed wedding. With our extensive experience at all the major Asheville, Charlotte and North Carolina venues (and many of the lesser known ones as well) we are able to make excellent use of the time you allow for your wedding photos. Asheville and Charlotte is not only our home, we all choose to live here and love living here. We know Asheville and Charlotte like it's our backyard - everything from the back roads of the Biltmore Estate to the neighbors at the Farm in Candler.
We are never satisfied with status-quo photos. We strive at every event to come back with photos that would be good enough to go into our portfolio. That is why every wedding we shoot goes on our wedding photography blog. We are very proud of our work and we stand behind it.
Blue Bend Photography is a member of the WPJA (an organization for wedding photographers that specialize in "Wedding Photojournalism") amongst others. We have published work in several regional and national wedding magazines - including the cover of several magazines.
