Joe photographed his first wedding as a professional when he was 16 years old. While working for a company in the Detroit area, his boss recognized his eye for photography and asked him if he’d like to try shooting weddings. Armed with his Pentax K1000, he went with seasoned photographers as a “second-shooter” and very quickly established himself as one of Michigan’s leading wedding photographers. By the time he was 19, and going to Western Michigan University full-time, he was already shooting an average of 40 – 50 weddings a year. He has been in extreme demand ever since.
Joe now has his main residence in Anchorage, Alaska, but travels quite often to the south-east during the colder months to visit us, ride his bike and escape the cold weather. Nick and Maddy were lucky enough to have Joe photograph their wedding (“The Girl on the Red Bench”) and have been best friends ever since. Nick and Joe have been a team on quite a few photography shoots over the last 8 years and continue their photography relationship today. He is available for weddings in the “Lower-48″ from October to April.
