There are a couple of great websites to check out if you’re either a wedding photographer or looking for a wedding photographer. We belong to two great organizations that specialize in Wedding Photographers pushing the envelope of what we think of as Wedding Photography.
Fearless Photographers is a relatively new organization that focuses on Wedding Photography as an art and the photographers that aren’t afraid to push the limits of what they’re doing. We’ve recently become a member and love the work that we see from other members in the organization.
Amazing North Carolina Wedding Vendors
Asheville Wedding Planner - Verge Events is the best in North Carolina at planning weddings. Their attention to detail and organizational skills are second to none. I recommend their whole team whether it’s a backyard bbq wedding or a 1000 person wedding bash!
If you’re in the market for flowers for your wedding, I can highly recommend two places. Both The Flower Gallery and The Enchanted Florist (based out of the Asheville area) do amazing work. You can see lots of our photos on their websites since it is such a pleasure photographing the arrangements that they make for their weddings.
Asheville Wedding Makeup Artist – aka Blush is Asheville’s newest and hottest makeup artist for weddings in the area. Her brides look like movie stars. The facial features always pop in pictures after Wendy finishes with your makeup.
If you’re looking for an “all-round” guide to the Asheville area, the vendors and the venues, I’d recommend Explore Asheville, NC. They have put together an extensive list of wedding planning tips and helpful articles. It is a non-profit isn’t affiliated with any of the services in the book.
Asheville Party Rental – Rental Me This has everything from forks and knives to inflatables and popcorn machines. Super nice people to work with and great equipment.

Anchorage Wedding Photographers – Chugach Peaks Photography. Joe Connolly and his team are some of the best in the country, if not world. Joe and I worked together years ago in Detroit (he shot his first wedding alone when he was 16!!!) Joe, alone – not his team, has shot more than 500 weddings and he isn’t 30 years old yet. That’s a lot of experience. If you are looking for inspiration for anything wedding related, check out their site.
Asheville Wedding Videographer – The Obsidian Collective. This team of cameramen and editors is in the process of making their 2nd major motion picture. The crew has experience shooting on TV shows in NY and LA and on major motion pictures in New York, LA and Wilmington.
Another great Alaskan Wedding Photographer is my good friend Nathaniel Wilder. Nathaniel has the ability to come up with emotion that makes ME want to cry… and I see A LOT of wedding photos.
Charleston Wedding Photographer – Philip Casey at Studio 1250 is one of my favorite photographers in the South-East – that’s why he shoots for me whenever he isn’t booked down in Charleston. Philip loves the mountains and just needs the slightest excuse to come up to the Asheville area. He’s from Charleston, we met in Alaska and we hang out in Asheville :)
San Francisco based Wedding Photographer - Ben Chrisman. Wow. If you don’t know of Ben’s work, you should.
Another California Wedding Photographer – Jessica Claire is always coming up with really cool details and shots that bring a tear to the eye. Check out her work for tons of wedding inspiration!
A Creative Edge – Seattle Wedding Photographers – These Seattle guys do awesome work!
Dubnoff Photo are great Wedding Photographer in San Francisco for the City Hall. If you’re in the Bay Area and looking for a photographer for a City Hall Wedding, check them out!

Asheville Butcher – The Chop Shop. This is the coolest place. All the meat is local and humanely raised. They also do their own recipes that are to die for.
Asheville Craft Beer – Southern Appalachian Brewery. Some of the best craft brew beer in the country. And Kelly’s one of my shooters :)
North Carolina Architect – Prudhomme Design and Interiors. Fabulous architect and Interior Designer. She also does home staging. A lot about architectural photography can be learned from her home staging stuff.
